Ayia Napa is located on the coast of south eastern Cyprus, south of Famagusta town near Cape Greco. The first people are coming to live here around 1790 from Thessaloniki, Greece. Ayia Napa is located about 50 kilometers away from Larnaca international airport. Because of the absence of public transport to the resort, the most easiest way to get to your accommodation is by booking a taxi or rent-a-car at the airport.

Very popular thing in Ayia Napa is hiring a moped or buggy, all you need is your driving license.
One of the things which has to be done is visit the Water World Waterpark. This is great experience for both young party makers and families.

Passports & Visa:
For anyone entering Cyprus the only acceptable form of identification is a valid international passport or ID card. For the EU travelers a visa is not required.

Entry Ports:
The only legal entry ports are Larnaca or Paphos International Airports, or the ports of Larnaca, Limassol and Paphos.
The ports under Turkish Occupation since 1974 are prohibited ports of entry.

Driving in Ayia Napa:
Same as in the UK – left hand side of the road. International traffic signs are in use. General speed limit on normal roads is 50 kmh unless a lower limit is indicated. The limit on Motorways is 100 km (60 mph). Seat belts for front seat passengers are compulsory and children under five must not sit in the front passenger seat. Being in charge of a motor vehicle or pedal cycle with alcohol concentration above the prescribed limit is an offence. Helmet is needed to drive a scooter.

Telephones:
The standard of telecommunications is Cyprus is very high, similar to that of any western European country. Card or coin operated telephones can be found in the major streets and most of the Ayia Napa hotels. Prepaid cards can be purchased from post offices, shops, kiosks or the telephone company office (CYTA). All public telephones can be used for national and international calls with instructions and dialing codes clearly printed above the telephone. Mobile phones registered abroad but operating on the GSM system can be used while in Cyprus. You can buy also local sim card.

Pharmacies:
Local chemists are all highly trained and speak fluent English. To spot a pharmacy look for a green cross on a white background.
